How do i expand the partition in order to copy the CM9 installer file to the partiton, it says its to small for it.

The 'Encryprion failed' message is usually because one of the two EXT4 partitions has been repairably corrupted, in my experience. If you plug your chip into your computer and run 'mount' you should see three or four entries with the very similar names, for example /dev/sdb1, /dev/sdb2, /dev/sdb3, /dev/sdb4 or /dev/mmcblk1, /dev/mmcblk2, /dev/mmcblk3, /dev/mmcblk4. The middle two are the 'system' and 'data' partitions when you boot. Note that your device names may vary.
When one of them is missing, almost always /dev/sdb3 in my case, I run a filesystem check against the partition: fsck /dev/sdb3
The filesystem check rill repair the journal and other things. Eject the microSD card and boot normally.

I get an encryption failed error when I do step 6; it has this ICS splash screen when I turn it back on but gives the error after that.
